Union Station is the living room of LoDo — a beautifully restored Beaux-Arts train terminal that now houses some of the city’s best restaurants and bars under one roof. Mercantile Dining & Provision, Stoic & Genuine, Tattered Cover Book Store, and The Cooper Lounge fill the Terminal Bar with activity from morning espresso service through late-night cocktails.

Larimer Square, just a few blocks from Union Station, is Denver’s most storied dining and entertainment block. The Victorian-era storefronts house acclaimed restaurants including Rioja and Bistro Vendôme, alongside cocktail bars and boutique shops. It’s one of the most photographed blocks in Colorado.

On Rockies game days and summer weekends, the area around Blake Street and Wynkoop turns into an outdoor party. Bar Standard, Blake Street Tavern, and dozens of other spots have been the home base for generations of Denver sports fans. The atmosphere — and the people-watching — is genuinely unique to Denver.

LoDo also has Denver’s most active commuter corridor, with bus and light rail connections at Union Station serving the entire metro. The neighborhood is the most walkable in the city and increasingly popular with downtown workers who live a short walk or bike ride from everything.

Worth knowing: LoDo gets very crowded on Rockies and Avalanche game nights. If you’re dining near Coors Field on a home game day, make reservations well in advance. The 16th Street Mall pedestrian corridor connects LoDo to downtown and Uptown — great for a daytime walk.
