LoHi’s main drag runs along West 32nd Avenue from Speer to Federal, with Tennyson Street serving as a quieter, more residential extension. The neighborhood has all the conveniences of city living and easy walkability, with a slightly quieter vibe than RiNo or downtown.
The rooftop bar scene is what LoHi is most famous for — Linger, Avanti Food & Beverage’s rooftop, and El Five all offer stunning downtown views. El Five, the Spanish-inspired spot from the Edible Beats group, is consistently rated one of the best restaurants in Denver for both food and atmosphere.
Avanti F&B deserves special mention as a model for how Denver does casual dining: a renovated Airstream and shipping container food hall with eight rotating restaurant concepts, a full bar, and multiple outdoor patios. It’s a great spot for groups where no one can agree on what to eat.
The neighborhood has a strong coffee culture, with Novo Coffee’s flagship, Steam Espresso Bar, and several independent cafes all within walking distance. On weekend mornings you’ll see half of Denver’s fitness-oriented population making the rounds between Sloan’s Lake (just north) and the cafes of LoHi.
Getting here: The neighborhood is about a 15-minute walk from Union Station or a quick Lyft from downtown. Street parking is available but competitive on weekends. The Highland Bridge pedestrian bridge connects LoHi directly to Confluence Park and downtown — one of the best walks in the city.
